Bahrain’s nearest getaway Al Dar Island is a place full of fun and adventures at the sea

A 20-minute drive from Manama City to Sitra Fishing Port and 10 minutes by sea taxi, Al Dar is the nearest and cheapest island getaway in Bahrain where you can relax and unwind and wash away the stresses of the week. At Al Dar, you’ll find everything you need to enjoy your island escape: a kilometre of unspoilt beaches, pristine water to swim and snorkel in, a restaurant with barbecue, jet ski for hire and a playground for kids. You can even book excursions for fishing, dolphin watching, pearl diving and island hopping to nearby atolls. Beach huts

Once you’ve arrived at the beach, the main thing is to find a proper accommodation providing all basic facilities in nominal rates. The beach huts at Al Dar come in various sizes and are great for a day trip. Dotted around the island and a few steps from the sea, these are available on first come first serve basis.

Activities

No visit to Al Dar is complete without getting drenched in the water activities there. Jetski,sailing boats and courses, kayaks, scuba diving, you name it they have it. If you want to be out of the water and enjoy the sand, go for games like volleyball, basketball, etc at the resorts here.

Chalets

Al Dar Islands has six exclusive chalets located at the far north end. What’s great with these chalets is that they are far from the vibrant south end and are completely free from crowd. The chalets’ private beach is a staggering 400m of clean sand and the shallow water makes for perfect, safe swimming. Prior booking is required.

Boat trips

One of the main reasons for tourists to visit the islands is that they can go on boat trips to spot dolphins. Enthusiasts can also go fishing in the waters. Boat captains will help you locate the best fishing areas out in the sea.
